Fusterlandia
Cuban artist Jose Fuster made it his project to trasform his entire neighborhood. This artist covered the entryways of the houses, the benches, the walls, everything he could with colorful mosaic. Inspired by the work that the spanish architect Antoni Gaudi had done in Barcelona.
But all of that couldn’t be done alone, so he turned it into a comunity project involving the youth and giving work to the people of the community.
All of the mosaics leads you through the neighborhood and points you in the direction of the main house, that is completely covered in mosaics. Every little space is invaded with art. There is not a corner you look to in that house that is not insteresting; the pool, the stairs, the door handles, everything contains art.
The artist also showcases and sell his art pieces in this house. It’s really an inspiring place to be in. Every art and architecture lover should pay a visit to this place.

Cuba is an incredible country filled with so much art, culture and history, that one blog post won’t be enough. There are other interesting places, like Trinidad, Cienfuegos and Varadero, that I would like to talk about and give them recognition they deserve. Which is why there will be a part two of this Cuba post.
Theres just so much to do and see in Cuba!
I’ll leave you with a video a made of this trip.
